More Info
The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), also known as The Ex, is an annual event that takes place at Exhibition Place in Toronto, from the second half of August, leading up to Canadian Labour Day on the first Monday in September. With approximately 1.5 million visitors each year, the CNE is Canada’s largest annual fair and the sixth-largest in North America.
In 2019, the CNE partnered with Shadow Factory to bring new life to the Legends of the Silk Road Come to Light exhibit (Aug 16 – Sep 2, 2019) through the Augmented Reality app.
Using the Lanterns Come to Life! App, users were able to see 15 lanterns becoming animated before their eyes, by holding their smart devices in front of a lantern marker. With more than 200,000 attendees, the app had 11,000 downloads in 18 days.
As a Project Lead I was responsible for the project’s overall success by working remotely with the Hong Kong team and interacting directly with the client.
